Introduction
In this special, joint-faculty episode, The PVD Channel is pleased to welcome back our Chair, Dr. Paul Gagne, who will be joined by Julie Berumen, RN, MSN, CCRN for an exploration of critical limb ischemia, and how to determine whether you have the right surgeon or vascular interventionalist and multidisciplinary team to optimally treat and manage your patients.
Join our experts as they review disease risk factors, and discuss optimal strategies for the multidisciplinary management of patients with peripheral arterial disease and critical limb ischemia that can help improve patient outcomes and help prevent amputations that may be unnecessary.
Learning Objectives
Upon viewing this educational episode, vascular professionals will be better able to:
- Identify the risk factors of peripheral arterial disease and critical limb ischemia
- Describe a multidisciplinary care model that coordinates wound management to provide focus on limb salvage
- Discuss the importance of regular follow-up visits and recommended appointments over a year to improve healing outcomes
